UNDP and Government of India with the financialsupport of GEF is successfully implementing various projects for theconservation of coastal and marine biodiversity in India. These projects haveevolved robust governance models for the conservation of coastal and marineareas in India. The main objective of this event is to share the effectiveconservation of coastal and marinebiodiversity with new governance models evolved under the UNDP/GEFMainstreaming Project that are being implemented in East and West Coast ofIndia.The session will help in learning the effectivenessof the micro and meso level governance interventions for the conservation ofcoastal and marine biodiversity. The session will have panel discussions andpresentations on the effectiveness of the governance models evolved in Indiafor mainstreaming coastal and marine biodiversity into production sectors.The targeted audience for the side event are allGovernments representatives, Coastal and Marine Experts, Policy Makers,researchers, community representatives and youth from various countries. The audiencewill have an opportunity to learn various attempts and results findings of newGovernance models being implemented for the conservation of coastal and marine biodiversity.
